The following principals are practiced not from a sense of obligation to "earn" any place in heaven, but rather they are practiced as a result of a consistent love for Christ as well as the desire to walk with him daily. They are a natural consequence of accepting Him as a Personal Savior.

Core Values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

     Seventh-day Adventist values are rooted in the revelation of God provided through the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. Our sense of identity and calling grows from an understanding of Bible prophecies, especially those concerning the time immediately preceeding the return of Jesus. Consequently all of life becomes a growing experience and demonstration of involvement with God and His kingdom.

     Our sense of mission is driven by the realization that every person, regardless of circumstances, is of infinite value to God and thus deserving of respect and dignity. Through God’s grace every person is gifted for and needed in the diverse activities of the Church family.

     Our respect for diversity, individuality and freedom is balanced by regard for community. We are one—a worldwide family of faith engaged in representing the reign of God in our world through ethical conduct, mutual regard, and loving service. Our faithfulness to God involves commitment to and support of His body, the Church.

• In a personal God--Hebrews 1:3

• In Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as our Savior -- John 1:1-3, 14

• In the Holy Spirit as God, a part of the trinity of God. Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14 The Holy Spirit brings us to a deep conviction of sin, urges all to accept the righteousness of Jesus Christ our Savior, warns us of the judgements of God (a powerful tool in stirring up sin-darkened minds to the need of repentance and conversion), and bestowes the spiritual gifts of ministry to believers, thus benefiting the whole church. -- John 16:8-11, Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

• In the regenerative process called the "new birth" through the acceptance of the Gospel -- John 3:1-7

• That the Bible is the inspired Word of God -- II Timothy 3:16, 17

• In the literal second coming of Jesus Christ -- John 14:1-3; Matthew 24:30

• That man is mortal by nature -- Job 4:17; I Timothy 4: 15, 16

• That death is an unconscious state -- Ecclesiastes 9:5; John 11:11-14

• There will be a resurrection of the righteous dead at the second coming of Jesus Christ -- I Thessalonians 4:16, 17

• That the wicked will not burn eternally but will be burned up -- Malachi 4:1-3

• That righteousness comes by faith, not by works -- Romans 4:3-5; Ephesians 2:8, 9

• That salvation is a gift of God and is not earned by any sinner.

• That the 10 commandments are the standard of righteousness by which all will be judged -- James 2: 10-12; Exodus 20:3-17

• That the original seventh day Sabbath has never been changed by divine authority and that all Christians are under obligation to keep it holy -- Luke 23:54-56

• In the support of the Gospel through tithes and offerings -- Leviticus 27:30,32; Malachi 3:6-11
