Bible Correspondance School: An ongoing and active Bible Corresondance Class where students from all over the world engage in and complete a series of thirty-two Bible lessons on the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.." (John 5:39) Prayer Ministry: This is the heart and soul of our church. We believe in the power of prayer and are thankful to have so many precious individulas willing to engage in fervent prayer for our members, families, friends, and community. "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16) Men's Ministry: Our Men's Ministry meet on the first Sunday of every month. Following an early morning breakfast at one of Lake City's many restaurants, the men make their way to the home of a pre-determined widow or elderly individual. This individual may or may not be a church member. The morning is spent doing odd jobs around their home--home repairs, yard work, etc. "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27) Women's Ministry: The ladies of the Lake City Church are also active. Women's Ministry meet numerous times throughout the year. Their programs can be classified as both inreach and outreach. Guest speakers are brought in for the uplifting of our church members and functions are organized to benefit many "needy" cases. "Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did." (Acts 9:36) Youth Ministries: As well as our Pathfinder and Adventurer Clubs there is always something going on for our youth. We love our young people in Lake City and fully understand that you are the future of our church. "Ps 127:4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth." (Psalms 127:4) Nursing Home Ministry: The first Sabbath of each month finds many of our members at one of the local nursing homes sharing the joy of Christ with the residents. There is a time of prayer; a time of singing; a time of sharing; and a time of fellowship. "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35) Visitation Ministry: We are blessed to have so many willing individuals to visit members and non-members alike. Others keep in touch with notes of encouragement and birthday cards, while others visit frequently on the phone. "These things I command you, that ye love one another." (John 15:17) |
