Empowering Our Youth... |

Lake City is a blessed church. The young adults and youth in our church have been the source of many of the blessings we have received in the past and, no doubt, the source of many future blessings. I am so glad that I pastor a church that loves and reaches out to our young people. Some of our young adults have moved on and are now in college. Did you ever hear the saying, “Out of sight, out of mind.”? I pray this common and realistic phrase does not apply in Lake City. How can we forget our young adults? God has used, and is still using the young adults in our community, to continue to pour blessings upon His privileged people in Lake City. This month (August) we have an opportunity to show our appreciation to some of our young adults who now have a need. Michael and Joseph Brannaka, and Marjorie Price are working hard on earning their college degree. Michael is majoring in business; Joseph in chemistry/math, while Marjorie is majoring in OB/GYN & Abdominal Ultrasound. With their commitment comes enormous expense. Michael and Joseph pay $20,000 each per year for tuition and room and board. Marjorie’s tuition and boarding expense are around $10,000 per year. In addition they are each responsible for their every day living expenses (food, auto, insurance, gas, etc.) All three students are employed, have family assistance, and even have scholarships to help them with their school expenses. Despite all this they are still coming up short financially. This is where we can help. Wouldn’t it be an awesome gesture of love and appreciation if we, as a church, were able to provide them each with a $1,000 church scholarship or more? I believe God is able and, therefore, makes us able. Will you help us show how much we appreciate these young people by providing them with a church scholarship? Mark your donation “College Fund” and mail it to: Delilah Boyington, 2144 256th Terrace, O’Brien, Fl. 32071, or drop it in the offering plate any Sabbath in August. Michael, Joseph, and Marjorie are all “A” students. Let’s help them to continue by relieving some of their burden of debt. |
