             Some years ago while pastoring a specific church, I met Don and Evelyn. They were so much in love. At the tender age of 94 they were more in love than ever before. Not only was their love for one another strong but they had an insatiable love for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Don and Evelyn had always been generous in their giving to finish the Lord’s work and they established a trust fund to ensure that even after their demise they would be able to help fund the preaching of the gospel.

             One day Evelyn was taken ill and rushed to the hospital. She died the next day. Two days later Don died of a broken heart. I had the privilege of participating at their funeral. It was there that I met the trustee of their estate. His first question to me was, “Do you know if Don and Evelyn changed anything in their will?”

             Having no immediate family, Don and Evelyn had left approximately ninety-five percent of their $2 million estate to various church entities—their local church, 3ABN, It Is Written, Amazing Facts etc. However, because the trustee of their estate was not of our faith no monies whatsoever (to my knowledge) found its way for its intended purpose.

             While Don and Evelyn prepared well for their future they failed to utilize the services of the Florida Conference  Estate Services Department—a department that not only assists in planning for your future but a department that will ensure your final wishes are carried out.
