NFSDAE How do you take the pulse of a Church School? As an Adventist Educator, I have asked myself that many times. I do it in a variety of ways. I watch, listen, question, examine and mostly, I pray without ceasing. Another thing I have chosen to do is ask the students at least three or four times a year, “What do you like best about our school?” The pulse of the school quickens and my heart soars when I get answers like, “Bible Class… That we can pray together…Pastor Anthony…The way we work together… Memory Gospel … All my friends, and .., You, my teacher.” Thank you Lord for the opportunities you give us at North Florida Seventh-day Adventist Elementary to glimpse a taste of heaven. For The last two years the Jennings Lake church has done Christmas Evangelism. The church members started early this year to make sure all the costumes and back ground is ready to go. You may be wondering what we do. We have a wonderful family in our church that every year they allow the community to drive trough their property messing up the grass, enduring cold weather, and doing countless hours of preparation. We come together to present to our community a live nativity that is drive thru, while listening to the birth of Christ from a pre-recorded CD. You may ask yourself, is it worth it? Every individual that came out would say, Yes. This was an excellent way to reach our community and we have been able to pass out pamphlets that |

were very well received. We expanded our nativity this year to also include carolers at the end. Those that caroled met a week before and went to the local nursing home and grocery store and passed out flyers for the upcoming event and it was all covered by the local newspaper and very well received by the community. Mark your calendars now for next years live nativity. It is worth the drive. Bring a friend and be blessed. December 15th,16th,17th 2006 |
