At Sabbath School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created from Adam’s rib. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, “Johnny, what is the matter?” Little Johnny responded, “I have a pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.” |

The weekend of April 14-16 promises to be filled with blessings and fun. It all starts on Friday night, at 7p.m. in the Lake City Sanctuary. Mrs. Hazel Rice and others have worked extremely hard in preparing Voices from the Week of Calvary, an outreach program depicting the events and voices of the crucifixion and the resurrection. The program features much of our local church talent, as well as Pastor Byron Wells and the Bowles family (Macedonia Seventh-day Adventist churches). The Live Oak youth, known as The Young Disciples, will also participate. Remember to invite a friend. “Goody bags” with various literature and Pastor Doug Batchelor’s Final Events DVD will be given to all non-Seventh-day Adventists visitors. So, be sure to invite your family members, friends, neighbors or work mates. Perhaps you might invite the same people you invited to the River Ranch Evangelism last year! See you there with your friends. The blessings continue on Sabbath, April 15th. The children and youth departments of the Lake City church will present our Sabbath programs including the entire Sabbath School program, the worship hour (yes, the sermon too), and they will close the Sabbath with a very special vespers program. What a great day to invite your friends! On Sunday, April 16th, we head to Kissimmee and a visit to Gatorland zoo. This trip is sponsored by the Sabbath School Department and there is no charge for any of the children who attend any of the Sabbath School classes. Parents will be responsible for their own admission ($12). We will meet at the Lake City church on Sunday morning at 7;30 a.m. We plan on carpooling to save gas, so come early. A late lunch is planned at the Garden Café on Colonial Drive in Orlando. This is a vegan restaurant with delicious dishes. You won’t want to miss this exciting day. Please let the Pastor know (asap) if you and your family are planning on attending. |
